There is however, a problem, unlike England and America, Canada doesn't showcase Yorkville and its contribution to the sound of the 60's, Producers George Tsioutsioulas, Paul Koidis, & Gord Martineau's goal is to shinning a light on this forgotten part of history.

About the Project

June Bug Beads is a small Aboriginal owned business that creates handmade jewelry.

This jewelry can be found on Instargam and be bought on Etsy.

Erik's Involvement

Graphic Designer:

Erik was approached to create and designed the logo for June Bug Beads as they rebrand themselves.

The focus of the rebrand came in three parts:

  1. showcasing the fact that this jewelry is made by an Indigenous Artist was important, this was achieved by prominently placing a Medicine wheel in the centre of the logo.

  2. Creating a logo that finds a balance between a product that is 'Handmade' and looks and feels 'elegant & beautiful'. This was achieved by implementing two fonts, the name is in a handwritten font that conjures the idea of handmade goods. The second font uses long, thin lines for the secondary information, this alludes to the fonts used by Louis Vuitton and Cartier.

  3. Adding an eye-catching June Bug logo, and importantly, making it look cute!
